ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Lonia R. Broderick is a published author, small business owner, wife and mother. She grew up in Long Island, New York, where it was easy for her to immerse herself in the Arts. Having an artistic bend, she spent most of her youth singing in school and church, doing local theater, painting, writing poetry, and keeping journals about her life and prayer. She attended The University of New Haven (UNH) in Connecticut, where she received a B.A. in Communication with a Minor in Music and an A.S. in Journalism. She graduated as a member of the Lambda Pi Eta Communication Honor Society and went on to work in Radio and TV Broadcast News. Later she obtained her Certification in Early Childhood Education to become a teacher in the public and then private school system. Having worked as a Kindergarten teacher and being a home-school mother of two, she understands the importance of faith-based books in rearing children and helping them learn how to live for God. Saved at the age of 12, it has since been her heart's desire to use her gifts and talents to glorify God. Lonia strongly believes that the Muffy, Fluffy, and Dexter series does just that and feels blessed to have the opportunity to help parents and educators teach children about God's Word through the fun and enjoyable medium of children's books. Lonia now lives in North Carolina with her husband, Illustrator Al R. Broderick, their two children, and three cats. She is a singer, runner, enjoys mountain biking and being outdoors. Most of all, Lonia loves spending quality time with her family and cats. (more)
FAITH, FAMILY and CATS
Faith inspiring children's books are an important way to teach and educate young minds. That's why the Muffy, Fluffy, and Dexter series is more than just books about cats! These faith-based books help aid parents and educators in teaching children about Godly character traits and how to apply them to their lives. Each book focuses on a specific scripture that applies to the lesson in the story. We encourage parents and educators to help children memorize the scripture verse in each book. There is also a counting activity in the books as well. At the beginning of each story, the children are asked to find and count certain objects throughout the pages. This strengthens their identification and counting skills, while making learning and reading more interesting.
COUNTING IS FUN!
In the recently released book Being Left Out Is Not Fun, there is a mice counting exercise. Fluffy hopes you find them all!
